Bringing a Chemical Products Online Store to Google TOP with Clean SEO: a successful case study on how to rank an online store in the TOP

The owner of an online store selling chemical products approached us with a question we hear more and more often: “We seem to be on Google, but nobody sees us. Why isn't the website working? Why are there almost no orders, even though the product is in demand, prices are reasonable, and everything is set up properly?”

The client already had a website. It worked and accepted orders, but traffic came mainly from offline contacts and social media. And from Google search — only crumbs. Yet, search is precisely where people look for the products they sell. Everything looked fine from the outside, but inside the website, there were issues preventing search engines from "seeing" the store. And while competitors were reaching the TOP and gathering orders, this website remained somewhere on the second or third page, where users rarely venture.

Our goal:

  • Conduct a comprehensive SEO audit of the store
  • Bring the store to the TOP for the main categories and products
  • Ensure that clients start coming to the website from Google — without ongoing advertising costs

What we did for the client:

  • We started by analyzing the current state of the website and identified a number of critical factors that prevented products from appearing in search results. After that, we systematically eliminated them and strengthened all important areas — from the website structure to individual product pages.
  • The work was carried out in three languages: Russian, Latvian, and English, to expand the audience reach and go beyond local traffic.

As a result of our SEO work, the client achieved the following results:

The average position on Google improved from 18.3 to 6 — the website reached the first page, and key products became visible from the top lines. Most of the priority search queries took 1st–3rd places in search results. The screenshots speak for themselves. Organic traffic went up. For a year after implementing the changes on the website, organic traffic grew steadily. And this was without additional advertising — clients started coming on their own from Google search. Thanks to improved visibility and multi-language reach, the store began receiving orders not only from Latvia but also from other EU countries. Our goal for the SEO work was not only to rank the website in the TOP, but also to comprehensively promote the store by positions (for the main products of the store) and by user search queries from Google visitors. By the end of our work, we brought many main and crucial keywords and queries to Google TOP, and they currently occupy 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in Google's organic search results. Therefore, we can say that we did an excellent SEO job on this online store, and all of the store's products are now visible in Google's organic search results. After this case study was written, the store was registered in Bing, where visitors can also see the store's products.

As a result of our SEO optimization of the online store: organic free traffic to the online store pages grew, which directly influenced the increase in sales on this site, not only in Latvia but also beyond its borders.
